StarCode Lite, which is the free version, has a few limitations, like the lack of a central database server or the possibility of installing it on a single terminal, but the good news is that it provides support for any number of user accounts. You may create user accounts for admins or for sales persons. All operations can be carried out without any difficulties, due to the intuitive design of the user interface.

When logged into an admin's account, you will have access to a wide range of features, for managing and categorizing products, vendors, customers, creating inventories and more. When creating an inventory, you may add a certain number of products, with a specific price and assign it to a vendor of your choice. Also, when adding products to the database, you can also add descriptions and pictures, to make them easier to spot.

Both admins and sales persons can set the application to POS mode, which is displayed in full screen mode. Users can simply click a series of tiles, to add products to a sales queue. The software will calculate the total cost automatically, based on the provided inventory information. Also, if images are assigned to your products, they will appear in the aforementioned tiles, so users can spot them faster.

Finally, after a few sales, admins can manage sales and generate various reports. The software can provide you with sales reports for preset time periods or for a specific period, which you can define. Also, StarCode can report on products that are about to expire, low in stock or out of stock.
